Zarina Diyas
Who is Zarina Diyas? She's the just-turned-17-year-old who knocked off Jelena Jankovic in the second round of the 2010 Kremlin Cup. Zarina Diyas is from Kazakhstan and got into the Kremlin Cup through the qualifier. And her win over top-seeded (and former world No. 1) Jankovic wasn't close - 6-1, 6-2. The AP reports:
The 268th-ranked Diyas, who celebrated her 17th birthday on Monday, led 5-0 in the first set when Jankovic called for a doctor and had her blood pressure checked. Jankovic said she had a hard time breathing, and had been ill since coming from a tournament in China.
Yeah, I'd call for a doctor, too, if I was getting schneided by a qualifier I'd never heard of, one ranked No. 268.

Finally, Ana Ivanovic Wins Again
Ana Ivanovic won the Generali Ladies tournament in Linz, Austria. What's significant about that (other than the win, of course)? Ivanovic, the former world No. 1, hadn't won a tournament in two years. Almost exactly two years, since her last victory was at this very tournament in 2008.
