Martín Gaston Demichelis (Born December 20, 1980 in Justiniano Posse, Córdoba) is an Argentine football player who usually plays as a defensive midfielder for FC Bayern Munich, but because of his aerial ability, he is often used as a backup defender as well.

Micho started playing professionally in 1998 at Buenos Aires based club River Plate, but he didn't manage to find himself a spot in the starting line-up until 2001. He had some good performances at River Plate, which resulted in a transfer to FC Bayern Munich in 2003. His first season with the German team was not very positive, because he suffered a number of minor injuries, but under the command of coach Felix Magath, he has found a place in the teams' starting line-up. MartÃn has also played a vital role for Bayern in winning their two consecutive "doubles" in 2005, and 2006.

Shaun Wright Phillips English Football Player 2012

Name: Shaun Wright-Phillips
Nationality: English
Date of Birth: 25/10/1981
Height: 5' 5" (166cm)
Weight: 10st 1lbs (64.0kg)
Clubs: Manchester City, Chelsea
Position: Midfielder
Age: 31
Goals: 31

In the Nationwide League title-winning campaign of 2001-2002, Shaun Wright-Phillips started to reverse the equation that had been applied to him. The process that started with him being known as the adopted son of the former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright is one that will end in Ian Wright being as well known as the father of the City midfielder if Shaun's promise is fulfilled.

Shaun was released by Nottingham Forest, upon which the then City manager Joe Royle snapped him up for the Blues' Youth Academy. The work Shaun has put in since then is something that has impressed everyone at Maine Road.

He scored his first goal for the club in City's win over Millwall but his delight was tinged with some disappointment as there were no City fans there to see him smash home the winner at the New Den. He made up for that as City cruised past Bradford City 4-1 in December and nearly disappeared in the Platt Lane crowd as he celebrated his second goal for the club, his first at Maine Road.

The contribution he made in the latter half of the season was one of the brightest points of the campaign and he was rewarded with the club's Young Player of the Year award for the second season running. Another sign of the progress he has made was being selected for the England under-21 squad, making the team for a friendly against Italy.

Adrian Peterson 2012

Adrian Lewis Peterson was born on March 21, 1985, in Palestine, Texas, a small town between Houston and Dallas. (Click here for a complete listing of today's sports birthdays.) His parents, Bonita Brown and Nelson Peterson, had been star athletes in college. Nelson was a shooting guard for Idaho State with an NBA career in the offing. That dream was derailed when a gun that his brother was cleaning discharged into his leg. The wound became infected and several surgeries later he accepted the fact that his basketball career wasn’t going to happen. With several children to support, he joined the working world.

Adrian’s mother was a world-class track and field athlete. A Texas state champion three times over at Westwood High School, she attended the University of Houston on an athletic scholarship and was a sprinter and long jumper.

Adrian was a hyperactive toddler, ramping up his activity while others his age napped. His dad nicknamed him “All Day,” which was later shortened to A.D.—his nickname today. Adrian’s best friend was his older brother, Brian. The two fastest kids in the neighborhood, they loved to play sports. When Adrian was seven, Brian was riding his bike when a drunk driver hit and killed him. The tragedy occurred after Adrian’s parents had separated. The boys were living outside Dallas in Oak Cliff with their aunt, Bonita’s sister. After this tragedy, Adrian and his mom moved back to Palestine, so the youngster could be closer to his father and grandmother.
