Sloane Stephens lost in the third round at US Open 2011, falling to former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic.
Stephens is an 18-year-old American, and her showing at the US Open is her first advancement past the first round in a Grand Slam tournament. She entered the tourney ranked No. 106 in WTA singles.
